The Panasonic DMP-BDT220 player was called the “Best Blu-ray player of 2012″ by CNet.

The DMP-BDT220 is 3D compatible, has multichannel sound, and plays HDTV content via discs or via live streaming from the Web. The “Viera Connect” streaming media options include Netflix, Pandora, and Hulu. There is a dedicated Netflix remote control button.

The Panasonic DMP-BDT220 player is also Skype compatible and features an SD card slot on the front.

Drawbacks are primarily that subscription music like Spotify isn’t supported, and DivX or Xvid playback is not supported. As one of the lower priced options in Blu-ray players today, this is a multi-featured device that is considered a good buy by most customers.

Panasonic DMP-BD87 Blu-ray NewsThe Panasonic DMP-BD87 is a well rated budget Blu-ray player, capable of loading discs ultra-fast.  The multichannel sound provides a good listening experience that merges with the optimal viewing experience.

The DMP-BD87 supports streaming services like Netflix, CinemaNow, and YouTube via the built in WiFi. The WiFi compatibility has been reported as intermittent by some users, which means that streaming video may not always be available unless users add a WiFi repeater to their home for a stronger signal. Panasonic markets this model as an “ultra fast boot” one, meaning that discs will have decreased loading time and users can begin watching sooner.
